Deputy Police Chief: “Police are also offended”
"Police officers' rights are also violated, the police are taking adequate steps in that direction," RA Deputy Chief of Police Artur Osikyan said during an interview with "A1+".
"Others violate police officers' rights when they insult and defame them, and even apply force against them," he added.
According to the deputy police chief, the police quickly respond to cases when police officers violate others' rights. "When there are such officers, we reveal the violations and bring such people to justice."
Artur Osikyan advised comparing the behavior and activities of police officers in previous years with the results of the reforms that have been implemented recently.
Clergyman's view
In an interview with "A1+", Priest Hakob Khachatryan assured that people's spiritual rights can be protected to the extent that the people have spiritual awareness.
Are clergymen's rights protected in Armenia? In response, Priest Hakob said by citing parts from the Bible: "Whoever judges a priest, his judgment is ready."
He added that as clergymen, they feel protected with God's help. "God gives us the wisdom and the opportunity to be able to defend our dignity and our rights in order to implement our service more efficiently."
The deputy police chief and the clergyman also attended the opening of the Human Rights Expo 2011 today.
