Tamamyan’s issue put on hold
Armenia's Special Investigative Service (SIS) today motioned to the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan's Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts to increase the term of imprisonment for former head of the RA Police Criminal Investigation Department.
The SIS demands to increase Hovhannes Tamamyan's prison term for another two months.
As investigator Armen Nadiryan informed A1+, the petition will be reviewed at the next sitting but Judge Armen Bektashyan has not set its date.
By law, the court is to inform the parties of its decision within five days.
Hovhannes Tamamyan was detained on March 24 for misusing official powers. His pre-trial detention ends on September 18.
