Narek Sargsyan is ‘professional architect with white hands’
The atmosphere is dry in Northern Avenue, the fountains do not work. To this end, a serious project proposal has been elaborated for the avenue, Yerevan chief architect Narek Sargsyan said on Friday when summing up his first hundred days in office.
The chief architect says it is not essential that the apartments in the avenue are not inhabited.
"It is essential to provide exterior lighting on building facades to change the view of the capital and to increase green spaces," said Sargsyan.
Speaking about the erection of a tower at Republic Square and the recent public outcry over the issue, the chief architect said the disaffected are not actually that much though they are very active.
"Their activity creates an impression that the public is dissatisfied with the project but we do not see any serious arguments against the construction," he said.
Narek Sargsyan says he is ‘a professional architect with white hands' who is going to implement large-scale urban planning program in the coming three years.
