How Ruben Hayrapetyan freshens up
Republican MP Ruben Hayrapetyan is not going to run for Parliament.
"I have already announced that I am not a freelance deputy, and everyone is well aware of my party affiliation. If the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) decides to nominate me I shall agree to participate in the election race. Otherwise, I shall do my best to stay away from election processes," Ruben Hayrapetyan told a press conference on April 29.
Commenting on the statement of Parliament Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan that the salaries of MPs will be curtailed due to their unjustified absenteeism, Ruben Hayrapetyan said, "I would not advise anyone to punish me. Those who have attempted to do it, suffered greatly. However, I welcome the decision of the parliament speaker to cut the salary of absent MPs," said Hayrapetyan adding that he had received no salary as an MP.
Further, Hayrapetyan added that he is engaged in a more serious activity.
"Football is more important for me than legislative activity and I think that I have nothing to do in the parliament," said the President of Armenian Football Federation.
Ruben Hayrapetyan was also asked to comment on his dispute with a journalist as a result if which the MP was sued for verbal abuse. In response to a journalist's question whether Hayrapetyan did not fear to be sued every time when he used bad language, the MP said, "And do I abuse journalists so frequently?"
Asked whether an MP has a right to use abusive language, Ruben Hayrapetyan said to the journalist, "Dear, you had better drink Coke to refresh yourself."
"Those who plot harassment against me, will be severely punished," Hayrapetyan said in conclusion.
