Vahagn Arakelyan elected Yerevan Deputy Mayor
Vahagn Arakelyan was elected Deputy Mayor of Yerevan during today's special sitting of the City Council.
Mayor Karen Karapetyan characterized Vahagn Arakelyan as a moral and honest person and one of the best financier in Armenia.
Talking to reporters, the Mr. Arakelyan said he learnt about his nomination a week ago.
"I was sure that the Council of Elders would not refuse Mayor Karen Karapetyan and would approve my candidature," he said.
Vahagn Arakelyan will coordinate the financial activity of the City Hall. He promised to justify the expectations of Yerevan citizens and treat everybody equally.
Earlier, he held the post of Financial Director at "ArmRosGazprom" CJSC.
