“Opposition should change its tactics”
A group of protesters gathered Friday outside the RA Prosecutor General's Office calling for the release of political prisoners.
"We are ashamed of the existence of political prisoners is in our homeland. The world will henceforth view Armenia as a country which poses restrictions on freedom of speech. We are struggling for freedom of expression and human rights," Armenian National Congress (HAK) member Zoyan Tadevosyan told A1+.
She says that the struggle already yields results as HAK adherents are being released from jails.
"The regime neglects public opinion. We shall continue the struggle until the last political prisoner is set free," said the founder of Sardarapat Movement Jirayr Sefilyan linking the releases to the pressure of outer forces, specifically Russia.
"The opposition should change its tactics in order to succeed in its endeavours. The opposition has always relied on outer forces. It should confide in our people and their potential to achieve radical changes - qualitative and systematic - in the country," he concluded.
