Attorneys to meet with Nikol
Nikol Pashinyan's wife Anna Hakobyan says transferring her husband from the "Kosh" penitentiary to the "Artik" penitentiary is another absurdity.
"The penitentiary department has made several absurd and mutually exclusive declarations regarding the events connected to Nikol Pashinyan and I view yesterday's declaration among them as well," Anna Hakobyan told "A1+".
According to a release by the penitentiary department, the transfer was for Pashinyan's violations of the prescribed order, as well as for creating conflicts with other prisoners and intensifying relations with other prisoners.
Anna Hakobyan doesn't deny that Pashinyan has had problems with other prisoners at the "Kosh" penitentiary.
"The prisoners attacked him, demanded him not to release articles, not give an interview and apologize to Serzh Sargsyan. If the penitentiary department views that as a dispute between the prisoners, that's their problem. It is absurd that it was organized and Pashinyan was injured," said Anna Hakobyan.
Anna Hakobyan says replacing the previous half-open regime with a totally closed regime is a violation of the law.
"The half-open had to be replaced with half-closed and then closed. It is clear that they want to impede his activities and there is no other explanation," said Pashinyan's wife.
According to her, though Nikol Pashinyan called her and said he feels fine, Hakobyan is sure that her husband is still isolated. "They are doing everything possible to silence Pashinyan," said his wife.
Anna Hakobyan informed that tomorrow Pashinyan's attorneys will probably leave for Artik to meet with him.
