“Wilson signed inviolable award”
Ara Papian, Head of Modus Vivendi Center, has issued a statement calling on Armenians to hold different events on November 22 - National Patrimony Day.
On November 22, 1920, U.S. President Woodrow Wilson signed the Arbitral Award deciding the frontier between Armenia and Turkey, which envisages the return of Armenian lands (about 90 000 square km) by Turkey.
On that day, the arbitral award granted to the Republic of Armenia a part of our historical heartland, in the north-east. That day put in place and enforced forever a ruling which is binding, legally inviolable and perpetual for the existence of our rights, all in accordance with international law.
The Award is obligatory for all countries signing the Treaty of Sevres and for the Allies of the World War I.
November 22 must be rendered a day of restoration of justice, of demands for national reparations and the re-establishment of our dispossessed rights. This is the Day of Hayrenadiroutian - National Patrimony Day.
Ara Papian calls on Armenians to hold different events on that day, including demonstrations, marches, rallies and scientific meetings.
