Tsayg vs. GALA
Nine TV companies from seven Armenian marzes today presented their packages for digital broadcasting. Shirak's GALA and Tsayg TV companies are among the contestants.
Their expectations are different from the contest. Founder of GALA TV Vahan Khachatryan does not pin great hopes in the tender, as he does not believe that the competition will be held on equal footing.
"The packages submitted by TV companies are not important as the final word is after the National Commission on Television and Radio, but the presidential office. We have done what we were supposed to do," said Mr. Khachatryan.
Director of Tsayg TV Margareta Minasyan participates in the tender believing that the broadcasting license will go to the best broadcaster.
"I have my subjective opinion on the contest. Let us wait for the Commission's decision," she said.
Speaking about their rival, Margareta Minasyan said GALA is a worthy rival.
GALA promises to invest $1,5-3 million in the next ten years. GALA today announced that it is one of the largest taxpayers in the marz and has paid AMD 40 million over the past three years.
"Tsayg" intends to invest AMD 100 million in the next ten years, raise the wages, and open new working places.
The fate of the TV companies will be decided on December 23.
