No Ombudsman page on Facebook
The Office of the RA Human Rights Defender has addressed a letter to the Facebook administration.
"Dear Facebook administration, we would like to inform you that the so-called page called HUMAN RIGHTS DEFENDER OF THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA created by anonymous individuals may confuse Facebook users and especially numerous people who send their appeals to us.
In addition, according to our reliable sources, some of the 700 members of that page have joined the group, thinking this is the page of the RA Human Rights Defender Office.
Our employees showed interest and joined the group to find out what kinds of messages they would receive. It turns out that the group administrators send advertisements of various products to their members.
We express our concern and protest in regard to this and officially ask you to close that page," as stated in the letter.
