RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan today received French Ambassador to Armenia Serzh Smesov who is ending his diplomatic mission in Armenia.
The Prime Minister thanked the Ambassador for his efforts during his tenure and highly appreciated his contribution to the deepening of Armenian-French friendly relations. The Prime Minister emphasized that the diplomat has made a great contribution to the development of economic ties and has brought them to a high level of political and cultural dialogue.

Expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister, Serzh Smesov stated with content that France is the second largest investor in Armenia after the Russian Federation and proof of that is the serious progress registered in economic partnership.

In the context of effective cooperation, the interlocutors welcomed the activities of a number of large French companies in Armenia, including "Frans Telecom-Orange" and discussed the possible directions for strengthening trade-economic relations. The sides viewed the strengthening of cooperation in postal service, insurance, energy, electricity, agriculture, viniculture, pharmaceutics and perfume production with the involvement of French companies as perspective.

Ambassador Smesov also touched upon the effective, decentralized cooperation between Armenia and France and attached importance to the expansion of friendly relations between sister cities and regions of both countries.

Armenia's Prime Minister wished the diplomat success in his future activities and expressed certainty that he will continue to be a good friend of Armenia and the Armenian people.
