Arrested on Mashtots Avenue
The RA Police today confirmed the information according to which Russian law-enforcement bodies have found a person under persecution.
On August 24 at 6:30 p.m. employees of the General Department of Criminal Investigation at the RA Police arrested Russian citizen Telman Mkhitaryan (born in 1947). Mkhitaryan was being persecuted by the Department of Internal Affairs of the Russian region of Novgorod and was charged under Part 3, Article 163 of the Russian Penal Code (blackmail).
Imprisonment has been chosen as the precautionary measure.
T. Mkhitaryan was transferred to Yerevan police headquarters and the person in charge of persecution and the RA Prosecutor General's Office were informed of the arrest.
