Nikol Pashinyan's prison term was extended for two more months.

As grounds for that, the judge of the first instance court of the Kentron and Nork-Marash districts accepted the fact that the prejudicial inquiry body had given Pashinyan's advocates another 10 days to get acquainted with the case materials.

"It is much more important for us to see our defendant released than to get acquainted with that 15-volume trumped-up case," said Pashinyan's advocate Artur Grigoryan today as he came out of the courtroom. Adding to his fellow advocate's words, advocate Tigran Atanesyan said:

"There are no grounds for keeping Pashinyan locked up."

Advocates presented the court with not only grounds according to which Pashinyan must not be kept locked up, but also proposed to release him in exchange of a pawn. But the judge rejected this petition as well.

During today's discussion of Pashinyan's preventive punsihment, Pashinyan's supporters and relatives were not allowed to approach the court and the building was surrounded by a metal gate. Pashinyan was brought to and taken from court by the car of the Police Headquarters of the Kentron district, but he managed to greet the people gathered in the yard of the court.
