Some 78 pupils are taking a re-examination in Tumanian region. Forty-four of them are school-leavers.
Emil Aibekian, senior representative of the Lori Marzpetaran, is surprised at the number as weak pupils usually continue their studies at trade schools.
"If a mentally disabled pupil gets a satisfactory mark during the semester, the school principal and teacher are to be blamed for their failure at the end of the school year.
Both the teacher and the school principal are responsible for the organisation of exams, results and the curriculum. Today teachers are highly paid in our republic. Their monthly salary mounts to 100-110 thousand drams. Let them work with children and educate them properly. Education demands systematic work and endeavour," says the specialist.
