Safety regulations were violated
On March 15, the RoA Police issued a statement regarding yesterday's blast at the Nairit chemical factory.
"At 6:40, May 14, the Police Division of Yerevan's Shengavit district received two alarms of explosion from residents of Khaghagh Don Street.
The explosion and the following fire turned out to have been caused by a violation of security regulations when using chemicals in workshop 1-12 of Nairit Factory (70 Bagratuniants str.)
As a result, Karen Ghevondian, 1970, Hrair Vardanian, 1987, and Sargis Avagian were taken to hospital with injuries and burns of different degrees.
An action is commenced under Articles 231 and 285 of the Armenian Criminal Code.
Preliminary investigation is underway.
