ECONOMIC ENTITIES ARE FINED IN VANADZOR

In 2008 Vanadzor’s tax services fined 204 economic entities 13.5 million drams for the misuse of cash registers. Upon the initiative of the head of the tax services Henrik Kochinyan, since January 2009 check-ups have been conducted in local companies with the participation of mass media representatives. So far twenty entities have been fined.

Double violations have been registered in two supermarkets. Henrik Kochinyan highlights the tremendous sizes of the shadow economy. He says they do not aim to intimidate economic entities. Rather, they want them to display a reasonable approach.

Totally, the tax services collected 252 million drams in 2008. In 2009 the sum is expected to increase by 40 million. Henrik Kochinyan is confident that they will meet the target figure. Generally, the head of Vanadzor’s tax services is optimistic that sooner or later all economic entities will operate within law, and the tax services will watchdog their activities as an observant.
