15 000 ILLEGAL BUILDINGS IN GYUMRI

The process of legalization of illegal buildings in Gyumri started two years ago in the Realty Cadastre State Committee Gyumri regional department. But the majority of the buildings failed to be legalized in the mentioned period, and there are still 15 000 illegal building in Gyumri.

According to the head of the Realty Cadastre State Committee Gyumri regional department Avetiq Papoyan, 4000 of them are totally illegal, 2000 are balconies in blocks of flats, and the rest are constructions attached to legal buildings.

The majority of the residents did not apply for legalization because of the lack of finance. In order to carry out the process about 500-1000 AMD was to be paid for 1 square meter.

Today the RA Law on legalization of illegal buildings is no more in vigor. And the fate of the illegal buildings in Gyumri is not clear, “Tsayg” TV Company informs.
