Russian Media inform that Russian President Vladimir Putin announced about resignation of PM Mikhail Kasianov and Government.

At the extraordinary TV-speech Putin stated that the decision was not conditioned by the activity of the former staff of Government, it is dictated by his wish to once more represent own stance in pointing to the development line of the state after March 14.

Putin preferred not to await the end of the pre-election campaign and declared the new staff of the Executive Power.

Under his decree, Vice-PM Viktor Khristenko will be the acting PM.
