EXTRADITION OF PRISONER OF WAR WILL TAKE PLACE BY THE ICRC MEDIATION
Support A1+!On January 30, a telephone conversation between All-Armenians Catholicos Gareghin II and NKR President Arkady Ghoukassian took place.
During the conversation the issue of serviceman of Azerbaijani Army Elmeddin Abiyev, taken prisoner on January 8 on the Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan armed forces’ contact line, was discussed.
On January 31, the NKR State Committee on prisoners of war, hostages and missing persons received the official appeal of the Stepanakert office of the International Committee of Red Cross referring to the extradition of the Azeri serviceman “in accordance with the consent received from all the interested parties”.
The NKR President decided to realize the extradition of prisoner of war Abiyev to the Azeri side by the mediation of the ICRC Office in Nagorno Karabakh.
