Levon Aronian and Hrant Melkumyan win again
Armenian chess players took the second consecutive victory in the major international chess tournament held in the British Isle of Man and continue to be in the group of leaders. In the second round, our leading grandmaster Levon Aronian won German Dennis Wagner and Hrant Melkumyan won international master Ilya Schneider. They now share 1 to 19 places with 2 points each. Levon Aronian will compete with 18-year-old Armenian chess player of US Samuel Sevian in the 3rd round today. Hrant Melkumyan's opponent is Russian grandmaster Pavel Tregubov. Armenian chess player Grigor-Sevak Mkhitaryan from Brazil drew with Pavel Eljanov of Ukraine in the second round and now shares the 20th and 55th places with 1.5 points. His upcoming rival is expected to be Le Cyan Lyon from Vietnam.
