"Culture is expressing and materializing our lifestyle. The opportunity to open such a cultural center does not take place often," said Italian Enzo Moavero Milanes, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, at the opening ceremony of the Armenian-Italian Cultural Heritage Preservation Center, attended by Armenian President Armen Sargsyan, his wife and Italian President Sergio Machallella and his daughter Laura. "The cooperation between Rome and Old Armenia, which has come from ancient times, and the friendship between the two peoples who were one of the first to adopt Christianity, today, are still close to our hearts," said the Italian Foreign Minister. Minister of Culture Lilit Makunts expressed hope that the potential of Armenia and the involvement of international experts would be the groundwork for the creation of new infrastructures for the preservation, study, restoration and use of monuments and that it would promote the region to be become an important platform.
