The issue of damaged road signs and traffic lights
During the today’s cabinet sitting, Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan announced that a new mechanism should be developed to ensure compensation for damages caused to the state as a result of violation of traffic rules. Many road traffic safety signs, road signs and traffic lights are damaged because of the aforementioned, and there are cases that no compensation is collected for the cost of renovating or repairing those items. “The problem is primarily because of the poor implementation of strict surveillance of such cases,” the prime minister said and instructed the Ministers of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies and the Ministers of Territorial Administration and Development to examine traffic accidents within a month, and take measures to compensate them to restore. Also, the Prime Minister instructed the Chief of the Police of Armenia to set strict control over the incidents of traffic accidents.
