Bagrat Asatryan: “Serzh must be changed” (video)
Economist Bagrat Asatryan isn’t impressed by one year activity of Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan, “Yes, he was a fresh figure, very attractive. Practically nothing significant has been done so far, and in essence, which I consider to be the most horrible, he proved by his steps and actions that he serves this system.” Mr. Asatryan first cannot understand why Prime Minister participated in the campaign of the parliamentary elections; he should have understood that after it there would be despair in the society. Though, the economist isn’t in despair, but first the political system should be changed. With the current system Armenia has nowhere to go, “Should be changed. This political system is leading to decomposition… Look, Serzh Sargsyan’s government resulted in the migration of 388 thousand 900 people. Serzh should be changed.” It will become even worse, says the economist. Sound political competition field must be created, where district authorities have no place. He notes that after the last parliamentary elections, all the forces having political mind were eliminated from the parliament. He cannot trust the assurance by the Republican Party that without them the Karabakh issue won’t be solved, “They cannot solve the Karabakh issue. Never. What have they proposed in these 20 years?” The biggest guilt of the Republican Party is that Armenians, who registered territorial achievements, don’t have the confidence they had in the 90s’. April four day events showed other picture. Serzh Sargsyan, he says, first must answer the question how in 20 years we appeared in the situation that the world demands from Armenians 7 regions, which are under the supervision of Karabakh forces. Of course, there is no alternative to peace, but it won’t be done by Serzh Sargsyan, but by someone having a political team.
