Zaruhi Postanjyan: Yelk is on authorities’ side (video)
Leader of the Yerkir Tsirani party, Zaruhi Postanjyan condemns the proposal of the Yelk alliance which offered AMD 15 000 to voters who would refuse to take bribes by the ruling party in the May 14 municipal elections in Yerevan. “Offering bribe in exchange for bribe is punishable. We think these funds are meant for long-term use. They say to voters, “Don’t take bribes, come and we shall offer you bribe. It is a criminal offense,” said Zaruhi Postanjyan. She says Yelk passed to the authorities’ side when it accepted the results of last month’s parliamentary elections. “Without passing one exam, they failed the second.” In reply to A1+’s question whether the party would agree to fill seats in the City Council, if it did not form a majority, Zaruhi Postanjyan said, “We are determined to take power and we do not speak with ‘if’s.”
