Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan today spoke about the scandalous meeting held in the SAS Group during which employees of the supermarket chain were told to campaign for the re-election of businessman Artak Sargsyan, the owner of the SAS Group. When asked to comment on the recorded audio purportedly indicating that employees were threatened to be fired otherwise, Mr Karapetyan said, “If it is true, I treat it negatively. If it is not true, law enforcement agencies will make a corresponding statement.” Speaking about the illegal imports of Azerbaijani apples to Armenia, the Armenian premier said, “The criminal case is in the focus of attention of law enforcement bodies. Can you imagine me dealing with the fate of some 300 kg apples?” Karen Karapetyan says significant work has been done during the eight months of his tenure which is evidenced by numerous articles in the press and reports. “We have provided you with many reports. I need at least 30 minutes to speak about economic indicators.”
