Richard Giragosian: Armenia and Artsakh have no partners in peace
The meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan is very important, Richard Giragosian, Founding Director of the Regional Studies Center (RSC) said when commenting on the meeting held between Edward Nalbandian and Elmar Mammadyarov in Moscow on April 28. “But I am angry that Armenia and Artsakh have no partners in peace. Armenia has a diplomatic partner, but we do not have a military ally. And Azerbaijan has a clear-cut strategy and a maximalist approach; they want to have everything or nothing,” Mr Giragosian said today. He stressed that Azerbaijan is continually increasing the risk of conflict. During the Moscow-hosted meeting, Elmar Mammadyarov said ‘the time has come to move from words to action.’ commenting on the statement of the Azerbaijani FM, Richard Giragosian said, “That is the reflection of Russian diplomacy, rather than progress in Azerbaijani diplomacy. It is important that Russia cooperates with the West in this issue.”
