Kiraki: Even proxies were tempted by electoral bribe (video)
The parliamentary elections, the only nationwide elections, were held in Armenia, and four powers entered the national assembly. According to the preliminary results, the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) gathered majority of votes, Tsarukyan alliance is on the second place, then comes Yelk (Way out) alliance and Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun). As always, after these elections it was announced that there had been breaches, but they didn’t affect the results of the voting. Either frightened or tempted by electoral bribe, people voted from the HHK, announced human rights activist Arthur Sakunts. “Citizen Observer” didn’t register any progress in the electoral processes. In its conclusion “Citizen Observer” notes: “Elections do not reflect citizens’ free expression of will.” To what extent registered oppressions, use of administrative resources affect election results, how the people elected the ruling party; watch the video!
