In its election manifesto, the ORO alliance set up by former Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan and former Foreign Ministers Vartan Oskanian and Raffi Hovanissian offers additional privileges for residents of mountainous and border communities. The bloc finds that those communities are more important for Armenia. “If you look at the statistics you will see an increase in the birthrate especially in these communities,” Armen Martirosyan, a senior representative of the ORO bloc, told A1+. The development of agriculture is not simply a targeted tax policy. It is equally important to have the necessary agricultural machinery. “We plan to create agricultural machinery stations in each region which will offer their services to farmers at affordable prices,” the candidate said.
