Annul the decision of the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts and pass an acquittal verdict. Member of the Founding Parliament Gevorg Safaryan, who was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment, applied to the Court of Appeal with such a demand. DataLex information portal reports that the appeal has already been endorsed to Rubik Mkhitaryan, Sergey Chichoyan and Mher Arghamanyan, judges of the Criminal Court of Appeal. To remind, Gevorg Safaryan was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment and was found guilty in using violence against a police officer [Gegham Khachatryan] on December 31, 2015, during a scuffle when members of the New Armenia movement attempted to set up a Christmas tree in the square. Gevorg Safaryan periodically announced at the court, that charges should have been levied against Gegham Khachatryan. Gevorg Safaryan received injuries after the incident.
