Khachatur Kokobelyan blames all political figures, including himself, for March 1 unrest
Members of the Free Democrats party today placed flowers and a wreath at the Myasnikyan Statue in memory of the ten victims of the March 2008 post-election clashes. Chairman of the party Khachatur Kokobelyan lays the main blame for the events on the authorities of those years. He does not want to give specific names, considering the presumption of innocence. “I also blame all political figures, including me, who have been unable to disclose the March 1 tragedy up to this point. We cannot speak about democracy in Armenia until the perpetrators of the March 1 unrest stand trial,” he said. Khachatur Kokobelyan says there is no justice in Armenia, as people may be killed for their political views.
