Paruyr Hayrikyan is not against joining Gagik Tsarukyan (video)
Paruyr Hayrikyan, Chairman of the Union for National Self-Determination (AIM) who has recently joined a new electoral alliance which also includes former Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, is not against cooperation with influential businessman Gagik Tsarukyan. “Irrespective of the fact what assessments we gave to different political forces and figures in the past, we maintain that democracy concerns all citizens and all political forces,” Hayrikyan said on January 25. Commenting on his decision to join the newly formed alliance comprising Viktor Dallakyan, Seyran Ohanyan, Vartan Oskanian and Aram G. Sargsyan, the AIM leader said his decision was not accepted unanimously by his party members but the cons did not form a majority. “I must say that I have been cooperating with Aram Sargsyan for a long time. Democracy concerns everyone, regardless of their political orientation and affiliation,” he stressed. The AIM leaer says in order to achieve results political forces should form broader alliances and joint efforts in the fight against the acing authorities.
