Bill on State Duty passes second reading

In its Friday sitting, the National Assembly discussed and passed a number of draft agreements which were discussed by the legislature on Thursday, December 20. The Armenian National Congress (HAK), Rule of Law Party (OEK), Heritage and several lawmakers of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) voted against the documents. The Armenian legislature also passed in its second reading the bill on State Duty. The bill received 81 votes in favour and 5 votes against. Sixteen lawmakers, including the HAK lawmakers and independent lawmaker Edmon Marukyan, abstained from voting. The key reporter was Deputy Minister of Finance Karen Tamazyan. Five lawmakers, including Republican lawmaker Arakel Movsisyan, registered for speeches, but none of them addressed the parliament in the long run. The legislators started clapping at the end of the special sitting.
