Putin responds to EU parliament resolution, calls it 'evident sign of degradation'

The European Parliament has adopted a resolution to counteract Russian propaganda, ISIS and "Al Qaeda." The resolution emphasizes that the EU should resist the disinformation campaign and propaganda from countries such as Russia, and non-state actors, such as ISIS, "Al Qaeda" and other violent jihadist terrorist groups. Basic information of the threats the European Union is Sputnik, Russian Today, Fund “Russian world” and “Rossotrudnichestvo” Agency which is subordinated to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The measure was proposed by a Polish MP Anna Fotyga. The resolution was supported by 304 deputies, 179 were against and 208 abstained from voting. The resolution called “Strategic communication of the EU as a counter-propaganda of the third parties” calls on the EU member states to coordinate anti-Russian propaganda. Vladimir Putin said the resolution "is an evident sign of degradation of the Western society's vision of democracy" and congratulated Sputnik Agency and RT broadcaster for efficient work.
