The procedure of obtaining medical references and certificates of birth and death will be made easier. Today the Government has adopted a draft law on “Approving the rules of preparation, accounting and provision of medical certificates on birth, perinatal death and death.” Minister of Justice Arpine Hovhannisyan reported that the necessity of adoption is conditioned by implementation of PM’s instruction to optimize the procedures on acquisition of medical certificates on birth and death and improving the quality of services provided by the state to its citizens. “Formerly the medical reference was given as a paper document; it was handwritten and sometimes included incorrect data. The citizen had to take it to the Civil Acts Registration Office and receive a certificate. If any mistake was found, he had to go back to the medical centre again and get a new reference,” noted the Minister and added that the references will become electronic according to the new program. It is planned to introduce this system in 400 medical institutions and launch the process starting from January 1, in 2017.
