Secretary of the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) already sees the ‘breakthrough changes’ that Serzh Sargsyan expected in the country in 2-3 years. “Don’t you see that breakthrough?” Gagik Melikyan said today. Recently, there have been major breakthroughs for the HHK lawmaker – the constitutional amendments and the cabinet reshuffle. “At least, the public sees these breakthroughs,” he added. “Everyone sees basis for hope and faith among people.” The secretary of the ruling party does not exclude that the defeat of the authorities and victory of the opposition can be a breakthrough in normal countries. “It can be considered a breakthrough, but it is not a breakthrough.” Unlike the Republican lawmaker, Aram Manukyan, Secretary of the opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK) faction, does not see any breakthrough in Armenia. Republicans failed in everything and did not succeed in any field. “Armenia is being destroyed, and Armenians are leaving their country,” he said. However, Mr. Manukyan sees breakthroughs in all other countries of the region, even in Azerbaijan. Even if the Republicans have ardent desire they will be unable to implement good programs. In fact, they do not have any desire. How can we expect a breakthrough then? “These people only want to satisfy their appetite and do not care about anything else,” he stressed. After the debates on the 2017 draft budget, Mr. Manukyan concluded that people need not expect any breakthrough. Serzh Sargsyan simply said empty words. “Eloquence is characteristic of these authorities ahead of each election,” Mr. Manukyan said. In conclusion, he advised the new government to save what is left if they want to be praised.
