Hrant Melkumyan takes 8th place in Germany

Hrant Melkumyan, Armenian men’s chess team member, took the 8^th place at Bavaria Open tournament in Germany. Our chess player began the tournament successfully and after six rounds he was among the leaders. Alas, at the 7^th round, he lost to Indian GM Gopal and fell behind. In the 8^th round he lost half point ending in a draw with Indian international master Das Debashis. Though in the last round our chess player confidently won German Roven Vogel, he gained 7 points and took the 8^th place. Ukrainian Alexander Areshchenko became the winner of the tournament.
