EEU is beneficial for agriculture
Today at the NA during the discussion of 2017 state budget, at the joint session of Standing Committee on European Integration and Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs, Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) lawmaker Mikayel Melkumyan, addressing a question to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Karen Nazaryan, inquired how many Syrian Armenian there are now in Armenia and how many Syrian Armenians left Armenia, “I also want to know clearly, expressed in numbers, which are the benefits and losses we sustained after joining the EEU, and where does the vector lead?” Deputy Minister Karen Nazaryan noted that there are 20 000 Syrian Armenians in Armenia, though 3000 of them consider Armenia to be a transit country, “As for the benefits of the EEU membership, there are positive shifts in the agricultural sphere, especially in the exportation market. And in the political terms, the dialogue with the EU will give an opportunity to make the reforms more realistic.” As for Visa Center, Mr Melkumyan has an extreme approach; it should be closed for if it provides service, it should be only high quality.”
