Economist: Gas tariffs will be raised again in July (video)
Gas tariffs for Armenian consumers will be lowered for a short period of time, says economist Artak Manukyan. He belives the cut in the gas price is not done due to the internal efficiency level. “If the tariffs are lowered in January, the price will be raised in July,” the economist stressed. Aram Manukyan, a lawmaker representing the Armenian National Congress (HAK) in parliament, reminds that the program also mentions the temporary nature of the price reduction. “In fact, the gas price has not been lowered. Simply, the payer has changed. In the past, it was paid by comsumers, from now on the costs will be covered by the budget. This will have an irreversible impact on our economy,” he said.
