“You have a deputy minister who is often seen cycling to work. Will he also receive a service car?” Armenian lawmaker Hovhannes Margaryan asked Davit Harutyunyan, the chief of the government staff. The latter said the deputy minister has a service car. “We cannot afford such a luxury as to allow deputy ministers to ride to work on biclycles.” During the tenure of office of the previous prime minister, I spoke about the necessity of eliminating the positions of deputy governors. This implies additional costs. Now I am proposing the same thing to the new prime minister. Do you plan to eliminate the jobs of deputy governors? If yes, in which marzes do you plan to do it?” lawmaker Edmon Marukyan said addressing his question to Davit Harutyunyan. Davit Harutyunyan said Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan has instructed regional governors to provide the number of deputy governors according to marzes. “The premier will make a corresponding decision after receiving a reply.”
