On November 1, the Standing Committees on State and Legal Affairs and on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs of the Armenian National Assembly continued to discuss the 2017 state budget. Addressing Armen Gevorgyan, Head of Staff of the Presidential Administration, Tigran Urikhanyan, a member of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) faction, asked whether the subsidies granted to NGOs are serve the purpose or not and whether the Public Relation and Information Center” SNCO at the Presidential Administration works efficiently. Armen Gevorgyan said that the does important work which may not be visible to the public. He added that the SNCO does serious work especially in view of responding to external challenges. “The SNCO works very effectively whenever misinformation is spread about our country. I have visited the SNCO and talked to the staff twice and I must say that they have gathered a very dynamic and young team that works with great vigor,” he said said. “Thank you, Mr. Gevorgyan. I am sure that you will keep the activity of the SNCO under greater control,” Tigran Urikhanyan said in reply. Armen Gevorgyan talked to journalists after presenting his report. In response to A1+’s observation that the allocations by the National Assembly are reduced because of the unpredictable results of the upcoming elections: shouldn’t the expenses of the presidential administration also be curtailed? “You should reconcile yourselves to the idea that the institute of the presidential institute will operate in Armenia in full swing until 2018,” the head of the staff of the Presidential Administration said.
