EC adopted: L. Zurabyan congratulated everybody (video)
New amendments to the Electoral Code (EC) have been fully adopted at the second reading with 103-4 votes and 4 abstentions. According to those amendments, the signed voter lists will be published on the next day of elections on the CEC website, as well as in case of a false statement on voting instead of someone else, 2-3 years’ imprisonment or penalty equal to 200-800-fold the minimum salary has been set. The NA lawmaker Khachatur Kokobelyan said that he would vote against, as these amendments bring forward problems in the process of appeals. The Armenian National Congress (HAK) faction Head Levon Zurabyan made a statement after voting, “The society has struggled for 15 years for the publication of signed voter lists. I congratulate you on this important achievement.” By the way, today again the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) and Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) lawmakers voted instead of their absent colleagues. They were Republicans Aleksan Petrosyan, Murad Muradyan, Karen Saribekyan, and from the BHK- Aragats Akhoyan and Arshak Mkhitaryan. The NA ended the voting, and at 12:00 another extraordinary session convened by the Government will kick off. During the session the project of the Government will be presented.
