“The youth are free here”
Ozheni Avetisyan, one of the volunteers at Youth Social Forum, which has kicked off today, notes that the Forum united the people, who believe in progress and have potential to change something. This year the YSF is entitled “Progress is possible” in three thematic directions- freedom, peace, justice. The discussions aim at revealing the ideas, visions and perceptions connected with the progress.
Anzhela Muradyan, who is one of the “old-timers” of the Forum, entered the YSF at the advice of the lecturer. She carried out voluntary work in 2013, next year she was elected member of the team, being both a volunteer and recruiter of volunteers. She was a full member of the team in 2015, which became a ground that this year she is one of the YSF trainers. Besides, Anzhela and two other associates this year will take part in “Youth for rights” forum in Bratislava and will represent Armenia.
YSF has its regulations (YSF Bible), according to which the exercise of fundamental freedoms of people is encouraged, hate speech, inequality, propaganda, any type of discrimination is prohibited.
“The Forum aims at stimulating social changes in Armenia, as we think that political changes aren’t enough for long lasting and positive prospects,” notes Gayane Sargsyan, one of the initiators of the Forum.
