Minister confirms that Armenia's economy is 'in serious condition' (video)
Vache Gabielyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Economic Integration and Reforms, does not deny that Armenia’s economy is in grave situation. Commenting on the announcement of Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan, he said, “In terms of growth prospects, when we speak about the resources needed for development prospects, I can say that we are in in critical condition.” Vache Gabielyan says the newly appointed PM did not mean to say that the Armenian economy suffered a “dramatic downturn” while his predecessor [Hovik Abrahamyan] was in office. “He simply meant that the resources have been exhausted, and new approaches are needed,” Gabrielyan stressed. “He [Karen Karapetyan] did not mean to say that there was no economic growth. The figures are real. He meant to say that they have a new approach which will be presented by the prime minister soon.”
