Will detention period of Garnik Margaryan be prolonged or not?
Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts tomorrow will decide whether to prolong period of detention of Chairman of “Homeland and Honor” party Garnik Margaryan for two months or not. The preliminary investigation body has submitted mediation for prolongation of the detention period in order to carry out investigative activities. According to the words of Garnik Margaryan’s advocate Hovik Arsenyan, there is nothing to do in connection with his defendant. “I think that there must be correct formulation, and that the article of criminal association is baseless,” Hovik Arsenyan told “A1+”. The 72-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of cooperating with a criminal gang led by Artur Vardanyan. Margaryan does not admit the charges leveled against him. Chairman of “Homeland and honor” party Garnik Margaryan has been in custody since January 14.
