Investigator to 6-year-old girl: “I don’t feel sorry for you” (video)
Eyes of this 6-year-old beauty have already seen the death of her brother and her father’s arrest. Her brother, 8-year-old Erik, died two years ago in the car accident on Sochi-Yerevan highway. A few days before going to school for the first time Anushik was in the Investigative Committee, so that she could see her father Eduard Zeytunyan, who was arrested in connection with Sari Tagh case, and give him a chain from her neck as a present, “I took the chain and said ‘Father, take it!’, but they didn’t let me. Then I cried.” At the court, when her father was being detained, an Armenian investigator, on seeing the tears of this girl, said senselessly, “That man said that he didn’t feel sorry for me.” Today Anushik went to school with someone’s old bag. She has already liked the school, “In order to grow up, work and give money to my mother.” But still the family, who has been deprived of the only breadwinner of the family, is struggling for the release of the father and the husband. He is charged with hitting a policeman during July 30 police brutalities in Sari Tagh. Wife of Eduard Zeytunyan, Lala Bernetsyan, says, “He entered the crowd in order to separate them, the police beat him, how could he stand and watch the police breaking his head? He was beaten.” Indictment frightened Eduard’s wife, her husband gave testimony almost against all the participants of the events. Eduard knew that he was ascribed a testimony, which he hadn’t given, and said, “He says that he will commit suicide, if his testimony isn’t presented in an appropriate way.” The police involved even the wife in the criminal case instituted against the husband, “I am called as a witness without my awareness, without explaining my rights, that you can refrain from giving testimony against your husband.” 5-10 years’ imprisonment is awaiting Lala’s husband. Lala knows why it is in that way, “People are idle. All the investigators, I can say, have a problem of establishing themselves. For sure. If they see that someone is poor and a bit illiterate, they can open a case.” The family of the Zeytunyans has itchy feet; there is no doubt, Eduard will be released. They will immediately leave for the place, they came from- Abkhazia. But now Anush, who lost her brother, is playing with her friends under dangerous conditions, just on the street in Sari Tagh.
