Driver of truck used by Sasna Dzrer group arrested
Khachatur Gichyan, a supporter of the Founding Parliament movement, has been arrested today for assisting an armed group to storm a police HQ in Yerevan and taking people hostage inside the seized building. According to the indictment, Gichyan gave his truck to the armed group on the day of the attack. “The arguments were very weak. The truck was registered in someone else's name but it was at Gichyan’s disposal and was parked in his yard,” Gichyan’s lawyer, Tigran Sargsyan, said to A1+. The lawyer believes that Gichyan, who is charged over plan to attack buildings, structures and including communications centers, as well as transportation and acquisition of illegal arms, will be set free. On July 17, Sasna Dzrer armed group entered the area of the seized police HQ in Yerevan’s Erebuni district in a truck. The group demands the release of its jailed leader Jirayr Sefilyan and resignation of Serzh Sargsyan.
