Vahan Artsruni: If these guys are not heroes, then who are real heroes -Manvel or Seyran? (video)
Armenia's government looks like a ghost, one cannot understand whether they serve their people or not, Armenian singer and composer Artavazd Bayatyan said today. “No one has made an official statement,” he says. Vahan Artsruni, another famous singer and composer, says the U.S. Constitution allows citizens to bear arms in order to protect not only themselves, but also to exercise their right to rebel against the state. “Our Constitution does not provide such an opportunity. "Yes, these guys are radical oppositionists and they entered the police building with weapons. But they did it in order to change the quality of life, and what does the government offer us - to return to the same system?” he said. Literary critic Davit Gasparyan said in turn, “Where did all those terrific billionaires that can afford everything in the world emerge? Where do they take their money? Innocent people appear in the dock instead of them.” They think that the members of the armed group occupying a police station in Yerevan’s Erebuni district since early Sunday cannot and should not be called terrorists. “If these guys are not heroes, then who are heroes – Manvel or Seyran?” Vahan Artsruni asked. He says it would be wise to free Jirayr Sefilyan and let him speak to the group. “Eventually, no one knows who he was sent to prison. Besides, no one in the country believes the statements made by the National Security Service.”
