Chairman of the Democratic Party of Armenia does not want to justify or condemn the actions of the Sasna Dzrer group that seized police compound in Yerevan on Sunday morning and is still holding four hostages in it. “Unfortunately, such actions always produce the opposite result. It is wrong to attempt to resolve problems by force. It is necessary to ensure a situation that will take the country out of the crisis. In this case, we do not have that guarantee,” says Aram Sargysan. The political figure is not surprised by the fact that none of the officials has made a statement since the seizure of the building. “Authorities are obliged to speak to people; people should know their opinion on the events happening in the country,” he said. Speaking about the possible solution of the crisis, Mr. Sargsyan said the political forces should unite and assume the role of a mediator. “I am ready to do it,” he said.
