Individuals subjected to violence by police arrived at Khorenatsi Street (video)
The situation is calm on Yerevan’s Khorenatsi Street amid a continuing standoff between security forces and an armed group holding four police officers hostage at a police building there since Sunday morning. A1+’s journalist reports from the scene that over a dozen activists have gathered in the street, among them individuals who were subjected to violence by the police on Monday. A group calling itself Sasna Dzrer seized the police compound on Sunday morning demanding the release of its leader Jirayr Sefilyan and resignation of Serzh Sargsyan. The group members were able to talk to media representatives until Tuesday. Today, they were prohibited to talk to social media. Activists are concerned that the police may attack the building at any moment.
