Who would think that a group of 20-30 people would have weapons with them?!
Our source in the Armenian police says there were no detainees in police stations as of 0:00. He confirmed that part of them was taken to police stations on suspicion of possessing illegal weapons. “Who would think that a group of 20-30 people [armed people who continue control Erebuni police building] would have weapons with them?! that is why we detained some [citizens] to check their identity,” the source said. As reported earlier, the police rounded up and detained dozens of people, including members or supporters of the Founding Parliament opposition movement, after armed individuals stormed and seized Erebuni police building in Yerevan. Shortly after the seizure, they called on Armenians to join in their rebellion. Many citizens were detained on Sunday for their alleged involvement in the attack. About 50 detainees were set free shortly after midnight.
